Just Wondering - 5

Is there a state of mind, where nothing can interest a person ? An Eternal Ennui of the Extreme kind ....All shades merging into one blurry blend of grey.....All tastes mixing into insipid blandness....Every second as dull and dreary as its predecessor...

Can someone die of boredom?

I would assert: NO. Neither can there be a state of mind where nothing interests a person and nor can a person die of boredom. Before you ask me to substantiate, give me an example of when what you describe happens.

I suppose patches of such kind do occur in one's life. I mean, it is a tentative feeling owing to stress,worries, frustrations which causes nothing to interest you.

Absolutely.

PS: Is this state of mind self-sustaining? I mean staying in that state of mind implies you're interested in retaining that mood, which means you really can't say nothing interests you :D ... buck up and start posting already.

@: no state is invalid, as far as the human mind is concerned :P

@rashmi: they do. Its good as long as they are patches.

@musafir : why should anything need something to sustain? , even its own self? :)

@G: you've said it, boss ! :)
btw, not much happening on your blog... why so?

Sol, the usual thing - have been very very busy, very very travelingly and very very lazy. Have put something now and also have a story to complete (what else, on terrorism :) ) - will get some "air" time in the next two weeks - hope to do it then.
